Footprints Children’s Grief Ministry founder and president Larry Terrell, front, is pictured on Friday, November 7, 2014, with other members of the group, including (left to right behind Terrell) Jim Ruth, Susan Lorms, Nancy Gage and Chris Gieringer. The group gathered at Round Rock’s First United Methodist Church, where they just completed a 10-week program of one-hour sessions geared toward children ages 6-18 who have lost a parent, sibling or another special loved one. They stress, however, that the sessions with the kids will be held in other locations, and not just churches. The sessions, held at no cost to families, help children learn to identify and cope with their emotions. While children are in their sessions, separate sessions are held with a facilitator for parents or guardians trained to answer questions on site. Andy Sharp / For the American-Statesman.

Local program assists grieving children
Following four years of founding and leading Footprints Children’s Grief Ministry, Larry Terrell has turned over the reins of the office of President to Mr. Paul Lake, formally VP of Operations. Larry will fill that position until a qualified candidate is identified. We greatly appreciate all Larry has accomplished and look forward to working with him in this new role. Similarly, we appreciate the hard work Paul Lake has contributed and look forward to moving Footprints forward in 2018 under his leadership.
